About the event
This event offers an opportunity to explore the youth music sector in Catania, focusing on both public and private initiatives. The aim of this study visit is to present some examples of youth music organisations, both public and private, and youth organisations running inclusive projects in Catania, and to learn more about obstacles and successful practices related to working in the youth and music sector.
Participants will visit various venues and meet with local experts to discuss topics such as music education, youth at risk, LGBTQ+ inclusion, and cultural innovation. Through these hands-on experiences, attendees will learn about the challenges and successes of working in the music and youth sectors in Catania, while engaging with practical examples of how music can drive positive social change.
While exploring the city, participants will gain insight into Catania's music culture and its role in fostering gender equality and inclusion. The event is designed to inspire young musicians and individuals from underrepresented gender groups, providing them with opportunities to connect, share experiences, and enhance their roles as changemakers in their communities and the broader music industry.
